About Our Classes

MDA welcomes dancers of all levels and ages.

We are known for offering the highest caliber of dance training in the Summerville area.

Tiny Tots

Ballet & Tap combo class for dancers ages 3-4 year of age. Your Tiny Tot will be introduced to the beginning techniques of each style through creative movement.

Ballet & Tap or Ballet & Jazz combo classes for dancers ages 5-6 years of age. Dancers will learn rhythm, musicality and and beginning techniques of each style.
Designed for dancers with 0-2 years dance experience. Dancers will learn introductory technique to selected style and gain the confidence to succeed in the intermediate level classes. 
Designed for dancers with 2-4 years of dance experience. Dancers focus on instilling proper technique while also learning new skills to help drive your dancer to reach their full potential.
Designed for dancers with 4+ years of experience. Classes will further dance technique to a professional level and hone in on the dancers existing talent.
Dancers focus on proper body alignment, positions of the arms, direction of the body, French terminology, proper extension of the legs and shape of the feet, developing movement sequences, port de bras and balance.  and musicality. Body alignment and muscle awareness will determine progress. 
All pointe classes are designed for students with previous ballet training. Dancers will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes.. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles.
Students will build from the basics of Jazz technique and learn various styles. Dancers will focus on flexibility, turn, jumps, leaps, progressions and transitions.
Contemporary, Modern & Lyrical
Dancers will learn various style of these genres; focusing on musicality, performance quality, weight distribution, dynamics and technical skills.
Learn and build proper tap skills and techniques. Dancers will explore multiple styles.
Students learn isolations, develop musicality and style in an up-beat, high energy environment. 
Dancers develop control, strength and endurance while learning tumbling techniques
