Beginner Classes

Our Beginner program for ages 7 & up is for both entry level dancers and the "just for fun" dancers that enjoy a dance class each week as an added activity to their lives. Most students that participate in our beginner dance programs decide to proceed to either our advanced recreational program or even our Performance & Competitive Company. We encourage our students to explore the many styles of dance that we offer:

Musical Theater - Acrobatics/Tumbling- Ballet-Tap-Jazz-Lyrical-Contemporary-Hip-Hop

Learn about the different styles of dance that we offer

Ballet

The foundation of ALL styles of dance, ballet is highly recommended for all dancers. We teach classical ballet, a system of dance based on formalized movements and positions of the arms, feet, and body designed to enable the dancer to move with the greatest possible agility, control, speed, lightness, and grace. Ballet promotes self confidence, improved posture, flexibility, core strength, spinal alignment, self control and so much more.  We believe all dancers should participate in ballet!

Jazz

Classes consist of proper warm-up stretch techniques, center floor combinations & choreography, across the floor progressions, leaps, jumps & turns. This is a fun, fast paced class!

Tap
A form of dance using rhythmic sounds with the feet … a great way to have fun and get great exercise at any age. Students will progressively learn time steps, rhythmic patterns, tap terminology and more. Tap dance increases coordination, fine motor skills, musicality, stage presence, and self-confidence!

Acrobatics

Acrobatics has become a favorite among dancers who like to stretch, bend and tumble. Dancers are introduced to acro at the preschool level and are able to continue that interest into the kinder level and beyond to young adult. Beginning with forward rolls & cartwheels to more advanced handstands and tumbling skills such as handsprings and aerials.

Hip-Hop

Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles such as breaking, popping, locking, commercial/industry, lyrical hip-hop and new style hip-hop.

Musical Theater

Our Musical theater classes combine songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. The story and emotional content of a musical – humor, love, anger, etc – are communicated through words, music, movement and dance moves. We will have various themes throughout the season (Descendants, Zombies, High School Musical, etc)

Lyrical & Contemporary

Lyrical is a dance style that combines elements of ballet, modern and jazz dance techniques. The goal of a lyrical dancer is to use gesture, facial expression, and controlled movements in order to execute their movements and emotions fully. Dancers in this class are required to take Ballet as well.
